An Albuquerque woman living in her home with no utilities has lost her fight to stay there.
The city of Albuquerque’s Code Enforcement Division put a lien on Mary Kay Brizzee’s home, telling her it was illegal to live there without power or water. Brizzee sued on civil rights grounds, claiming she has the right to stay there.
According to court documents, a judge has instead sided with the city and dismissed the case.
