A young poet from Albuquerque’s Bosque School will represent the state in a national competition.

Neil Katzman, 17, beat out nine other finalists from all across New Mexico at last weekend’s Poetry Out Loud Competition.

He’ll be sent on an all expense paid trip to compete in the nationals in April.

Katzman’s school is also being awarded for his talents with $500 to purchase new poetry books for the library.
