ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Entertainment and experiments, it’s a combination you might not think of together, but one young Albuquerque girl is bringing them together on stage. Melissa Ober is still in high school but her show called “Science Girl in Dr. Von Heister’s Hijink’s” is on stage now at the Explora Theater inside the Explora Museum near Old Town in Albuquerque.
It’s also an interactive show that she put together from scratch, complete with participation from the audience.
“I get just full on excitement,” says Ober. “I just love seeing the kids. As soon as I say, ‘Hey I need an assistant,’ I just love seeing them jump up and down with smiles on their faces and saying pick me, pick me, and the parents love it too.”
Ober says she got the inspiration to write and perform the show from others in the science field like Steve Spangler and the show Mythbusters.
The price for admission to the show is included in the fee to enter the museum. Seating is open but may be limited, and is on a first come, first serve basis.
