ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Quite the fanfare and big welcome home on Thursday for a very special group of women.
The eight women athletes range in age from 80 to 91 years old. They make up the team “The Albuquerque Cruisin’ Big Dogs.”
They brought the gold back to the Duke City after winning the 80-year-plus division of women’s basketball.
They won the 2015 National Senior Games and beat the San Diego Splay 24 to 10. The tournament was held in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
They credit hard work and love for the game for winning.
