The Albuquerque International Sunport is lit up again after two major power outages in just three days.
PNM says a problem with the grounding system caused the first outage on Saturday morning, but crews also discovered a problem with the backup circuit. That outage lasted hours, causing flight delays.
Then there was another outage on Monday. However, the Sunport now says the issues should be fixed.
“From what I understand, the repairs that are being completed as we speak should be the last that we see for a while,” Aviation Marketing Manager Jonathan Small said.
Many passengers complained that they were left in the dark both physically and figuratively with little information given out during the outages. The Sunport says it will work on better communication with passengers in the future.
