Albuquerque Public Schools says its freezing spending on maintenance until the district can fully analyze its financial situation.

This comes after voters last week struck down the mill levy that would have replenished the districts maintenance money – adding up to $190 million over six years.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, Chief Operations Officer Scott Elder says money from current mill levy funds will run out by July. He says they will see how much can be covered with the remaining money, then turn to the districts operational budget.
