ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The intersection of Mountain and Woodward has opened after APD investigated a Saturday morning crash.

APD says that a vehicle driven by Erica Garcia was westbound on Mountain approaching Woodward when she crossed into the eastbound lane of Mountain. Her vehicle left the road and drove up the support wire for a large utility pole. According to police, the vehicle climbed to a height of 14ft 8in off the ground before falling back onto the street on the roof of the vehicle.

A 2-year-old passenger who was not restrained was ejected and suffered serious injuries. Garcia was also taken to hospital for unspecified injuries.

APD says that Garcia showed obvious signs of impairment. According to a portion of the criminal complaint, doctors told police that Garcia admitted to drinking 30 beers. Police say she will be booked on felony charges upon her release from the hospital.

KRQE News 13 will provide updates as they come.
