Albuquerque police ID man involved in SWAT standoff

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque police have released the name of the man involved in an hours long SWAT standoff Thursday.

They say 46-year-old Eugene Miera assaulted a family member with a gun and appeared to be drunk when he refused to come out of his home near Highway 528 and Westside Boulevard.

Miera was eventually taken into custody after he tried to escape through his backyard. He was booked into MDC on domestic violence and aggravated assault charges.
