Rio Rancho student recovering after rattlesnake bite

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – A Rio Rancho student is recovering after being bitten by a rattlesnake on campus.

The school district says the Sandia Vista Elementary School student was playing outside during recess when it happened. Staff immediately got the student medical care and removed all other students from the area.

The school says the student is going to be okay.
