ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A proposal to stiffen penalties for drivers ignoring their speed camera tickets is being heard in Albuquerque’s Finance and Government Operations Committee Monday evening. Last month, the legislation, backed by the mayor, was proposed to update city ordinances to allow the city to boot or two drivers’ cars if they have three or more delinquent speed camera tickets.

As of March, there were 432 of them and another 700 right behind them with two tickets in default.
