PNM, Human Services Department provide funding to help families pay electric bills

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) –The state and PNM are coming together to help families struggling to pay their electric bills.

The New Mexico Human Services Department Engery Assistance Program and the PNM Good Neighbor Fund Program are working together to help low-income families with as much as $550.

However, the funding is only available while it lasts. Residents are encouraged to act fast.

Follow the 2-step process to get the maximum amount of utility bill assistance:

1st Step: Contact the New Mexico Human Services Department for the LIHEAP energy assistance program in the safety and convenience of your own home at LIHEAP can help you with more than $400 towards your utilities and is processed in approximately 3-days.

2nd Step: Contact the PNM Good Neighbor Fund at 844-378-5792 to get another $150 towards your electric bill. It’s processed in about 2-days.
