Mandatory pet licensing to end in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The City has officially ended the pet licensing requirement within the city of Albuquerque.

Before, people in Albuquerque were supposed to get licenses for their pets every year.

The changes do away with the licensing system and makes microchipping mandatory. The move comes after research showed more than 80% of pets in the city were not licensed.
