Kids participate in first day of Carrie Tingley's Camp Adventure

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - Carrie Tingley's Camp Adventure kicked off Tuesday at La Cueva High School.

The camp lets kids with disabilities explore the wonderful world of sports. The hospital funds the camp through donations.

This year, about 80 kids will get to participate, learning to do everything from play traditional sports to ride bikes, and do other things kids do best.

"So the point of Camp Adventure is they come out saying, 'I can do it,' not that 'I can't do it,'" said Jeff Hoehn, Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation.

Carrie Tingley Hospital says once kids know how much they're capable of, they tend to be more willing to try new things.
