District Attorney Raul Torrez implements paid parental leave policy

Local News

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Bernalillo County District Attorney is following the governor’s lead, giving his employees paid parental leave.

District Attorney Raul Torrez announced Wednesday parents working in his office can now take 12 weeks of time off for family needs. Last week, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham implemented a similar policy for all state employees.

Some lawmakers are pushing a bill that would guarantee maternity leave for all New Mexicans.
