ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Two giraffes from the Albuquerque BioPark are now calling Hawaii home. One-year-old Neelix and 10-month-old Sandi have moved to the Honolulu Zoo. The reticulated giraffe is listed as endangered and so they were moved as part of a breeding program. The two giraffes were taken to Hawaii on a cargo plane and they got police escorts all the way to their new home. The BioPark is still home to four giraffes.
