APD responds to deadly shooting near UNM

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting near the University of New Mexico on Friday.

APD says officers responded to calls about a shooting near Central and Yale around 8:38 p.m. When officers arrived, they say they found a man who had been shot. That person died on scene.

Officers say that witnesses described two subjects running from the area. Authorities say detectives have also canvassed the location for surveillance video.

The victim has yet to be identified. The investigation is ongoing.
