ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that left a pedestrian dead. Monday night around 11:20 p.m. police responded to a vehicle verse pedestrian crash in the area of Pennsylvania St. and Mountain Rd., just south of I-40.
APD says a woman was pushing a shopping cart in the northbound lane of Pennsylvania when a silver Volkswagen sedan traveling north struck her. They fled the scene after the crash. The pedestrian was pronounced dead on scene. Police say pedestrian error and speed are believed to be contributing factors in the crash. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
