APD conducts river rescue to save man who fell into Rio Grande

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department‘s Open Space Unit conducted a river rescue for a man who fell into the Rio Grande near Paseo Del Norte on Wednesday night. Police say the incident happened just before 10 p.m. and the man was pulled from the water and transported by stretcher to an ambulance.

Officers say he was alert and coherent before being taken to the hospital.
