ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Police Department’s Motor Unit responded to a crash Saturday night. It involved a pedestrian, they said.
According to APD, a crash took place at Central Avenue and San Mateo around 9:30 p.m. Witnesses told police they saw a man running across Central Ave outside of a crosswalk and was hit by a truck.
The truck allegedly drove away but returned to the scene. The pedestrian was reported dead on arrival, police said.
Authorities haven’t charged the driver because they believe this was caused by pedestrian error. Speed and alcohol do not seem like factors on the driver’s end of the incident, they said.
