Albuquerque man arrested for gun theft, turned in by his mother

News

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man is behind bars for allegedly breaking into two metro gun shops, and it was his own mom who turned him in.

Late last month, four men were seen on surveillance video breaking into Warrior’s Edge Armory and Butch’s Gun Shop; 19 guns were stolen.

Police say one of those men was 19-year-old Paul Martinez.

His mother heard about the incident and when police showed her the video, she identified him as one of the robbers. She says he was trying to sell the guns to family members.

The other suspects are still on the run.
