Albuquerque finishes replacing street lights with new LED bulbs

The city has finished relighting Albuquerque.

Tuesday night, the last of the city’s replacement LED lights were installed in Old Town.

Last year, the city said it would replace more than 20,000 street lights with new, energy efficient bulbs.

It partnered with lighting company, Citelum, which will maintain the lights for the next 15 years.

The project cost $20 million, but the city says the energy savings and lower maintenance fees will off-set the cost.
