It’s a wedding showdown: four New Mexico brides are facing off on a popular reality show. The winner and her husband will walk a way with a sweet prize.
From the slopes, to wardrobe changes, and plenty of New Mexican tradition.
“Our wedding was like pure awesomeness, it was epic,” said Lyndsi Borders.
“I’ve heard of brides changing twice, but never three times,” said Ashli Flock.
Brides, Kimberley, Melinda, Lyndsi and Ashli, pulled out all the stops to have the wedding of their dreams and out-do each other in the process.
“It’s the dance called La Marcha and that kind of symbolizes two families coming together,” Flock said.
The friendly competition was for the TLC reality show “Four Weddings.” The line-dancing brides attended each other’s weddings, then judged them on things like venue, originality and overall experience.
“We’re both super competitive people, but at the same time we really cherish our friendships,” said Kimberley Chavez.
“Knowing that they are your friends and having to say it out loud on TV whether you like something or not, and giving them an actually like score, it was kind of hard,” Borders said.
The bride with the highest score won an all-expenses-paid honeymoon, but these brides say during their weddings, “I didn’t even think about the competition honestly,” Borders said.
Win or lose, “We always had a lot of fun dancing, that was the time where we all go to be together,” said Melinda Perea.
The brides couldn’t reveal the winner of the honeymoon. Their episode airs on Jan. 19 at 7:00 p.m. on the TLC network.
