Albuquerque appliance store donates grills to metro fire stations

Friday, an Albuquerque company made a special donation to local firefighters.

Baillio’s Appliances donated Trager grills to crews at all Albuquerque and Bernalillo County fire stations.

Crews work in 48 hour shifts, meaning they live, work and eat there for two days at a time.

Baillio’s is hopeful the donation will make it easier to create tasty home cooked meals at the station.

“They spend 48 hour shifts there and they’re cooking…and sure enough the alarm goes off when the meal’s almost ready, and so with the Trager grill…just a low cook system, they can keep it going and when they come back their meal will be ready for them,” Baillio’s General Manager David Springer said.

U-Haul also donated a truck to get the grills to all the stations.
