AFR dons pink shirts for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Albuquerque Fire Rescue is proving “real firefighters wear pink.”

During the month of October, AFR will promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing pink shirts.

They were designed by firefighter Josh Groves, who also designed pink patches.

AFR members plan on wearing the shirts during shifts, and even Balloon Fiesta.

“This is something that we’re so proud of. If one young woman out there is reminded to go get an exam by seeing one of us in a shirt, it’s all worth it.

AFR plans on eventually making the t-shirts available to the public.
