Accused carjacker appears in court for violating his probation

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The man accused of stealing a car, then causing a police chase in June appeared in court Thursday after violating his probation in a different case.

Dakota Cook was arrested in 2014 for assaulting a peace officer and stealing a car. A judge originally gave him a different sentence, but his June carjacking put an end to that as he violated his probation.

Now, Cook has to serve the remainder of his deferred sentence, which is about three years.
