The city has new incentives to help save water.
For decades, Albuquerque Water Authority has offered rebates on appliances that save water inside your home.
Thanks to that incentive, the gallons of water used per person has dropped from 250 to just 125.
Now, the city is switching gears, offering rebates on gadgets that save water in your yard.
“We want to make sure we equip the customers not only with the education, but also with the technology so they can efficiently manage their water usage while having aesthetically pleasing landscapes,” conservation program manager Carlos Bustos said.
As a result of the new incentive, rebates on indoor appliances will end this September.
