ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A new category is opening up for film makers.
The Albuquerque Film and Music Experience (AFME) are having their second “Get Smart (phone)” movie contest.
This contest is open to filmmakers to film an entire short movie using only devices such as iPhones, Androids or tablets.
“As technology continues to generate high quality video capabilities, we are proud to open up another film category at AFME where movie makers can share their ultimate story. Many movies have been submitted to AFME that have been filmed entirely on smartphones and it is fascinating to see the quality of the finished product. This may very well be the wave of the future,” said Ivan Wiener, Executive Director.
The non-profit organization’s goal is to allow for artists of all kinds to share the unique character of New Mexico while celebrating the art of storytelling.
Judging will be based on originality, storyline, cinematography and editing. The first place winner will receive $500 cash prize along with promotion and an exclusive radio interview.
The top ten “smart” movies will be showcased the first week of June.
