Five teens who broke out of the Durango Detention Center on Friday have been caught, along with the man who helped them.
Officers say the suspect, a 21-year-old, cut part of a chain link fence Friday afternoon. The five escapees then jumped in a car with him and took off.
According to the Durango Herald, they were arrested outside Pagosa Springs after a police pursuit.
Officers say it’s unclear how many of the escaped youth knew the man personally.
His identity has not been released.
They also say about a dozen other juveniles opted not to escape when they could have.
