The state Supreme Court is halting a $4 million judgment against CYFD.

According to The Santa Fe New Mexican, back in 2001, a pair of Los Alamos girls were allowed to live semi-independently in an apartment rented from a relative of a disallowed foster mother.

The biological parents sued as a district court judge awarded them 3.8 million.

However, the Supreme Court vacated the award saying the judge improperly awarded certain types of damages.
