(KRQE) – The flu season continues to take a fatal toll on New Mexico.
According to the Department of Health, there have been 24 deaths related to the flu this season.
That is up from 16 deaths three weeks ago.
The Health Department says the state’s influenza activity is at its highest this season.
No New Mexico children have died from the flu, but schools across the state have held closures to deal with the sickness.
