2019 City Nature Challenge kicks off in Bernalillo County

The city of Albuquerque needs you to get out and identify all the unique things you can find in nature.  The 2019 City Nature Challenge begins Friday.

Albuquerque will be competing against other cities around the world to make the most observations and find the most species of wild plants and animals. The boundaries are limited to Bernalillo County however, between the bosque and the mountains there should be plenty of opportunities.

By participating in the event, and submitting photos, community members will be able to add their observations to the city’s project site online where they can be tracked and viewed.

“I’m always down here. I’m down here every morning and I’m always finding something new to take a picture,” said Shirley who regularly visits the bosque.

The City Nature Challenge runs through Monday.  Click here to take part in the City Nature Challenge ABQ 2019.
