ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Two metro residents are suing the city’s Lucky Paws Pet Adoption Center.

A Rio Rancho woman claims the pet store in Coronado Center should have known “Rocky” the cat was obviously vicious when she adopted it in 2015.

According to the lawsuit, the cat was sleeping on her lap when it suddenly attacked her. The woman says she suffered an infection and had to be hospitalized.

In a separate lawsuit, a Bernalillo County man claims he was attacked by a dog that was being walked by a Lucky Paws employee.

He says he should have been warned about the dog’s violent nature and it should have been restrained. The city said it cannot comment.
