RUIDOSO, N.M. (KRQE) – Two archaeological sites in New Mexico will now be protected.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation awarded more than $8,000 to the Archaeological Conservancy, according to the Ruidoso News. The areas have had trouble with vandals and off-roading.
It will also prevent wildlife and livestock from entering the site. The conservancy says the areas have irreplaceable cultural materials on them.
