Poll: New Mexicans’ response to new CDC mask guidelines

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The New Mexico Department of Health announced Friday that the state would be following the CDC’s updated guidelines regarding vaccinated persons and masks. In an updated public health order, Secretary of the Department of Health Dr. Tracie Collins clarified that fully vaccinated people do not have to wear masks in most settings unless directed by a healthcare professional to wear one.

Poll Results

KRQE News 13 published a single-day non-scientific poll with two questions focused on masks. Demographic information was not collected; however, 90% who provided their county of residence live in New Mexico.


Out of 650 respondents, 53.2% say they are Very Comfortable going into a store or business without a mask.


Out of 581 respondents 26.9% said they are Not at all Likely to wear a mask in stores if they are fully vaccinated.
