New Mexico researchers say a certain type of mosquito is becoming a threat to public health. 

A study from New Mexico State University and the Department of Health says the yellow-fever mosquito has become resistant to insecticide. 

The study looked at various cities across the state and found it makes it harder to stop the mosquitos from spreading disease. 

Researchers say it’s a serious problem and the study is an important warning.
