Trendline Charts: New Mexico Coronavirus Cases by County, by Day

Coronavirus New Mexico

NOTE: NMDOH will no longer release daily COVID-19 case count reports during the weekends starting April 10, 2021. Monday totals will now include the weekend totals.

Case numbers are currently at a level where day-to-day tracking does not demonstrate measurable differences with regards to positivity rates, and the weekend is the logical place to stand down with regards to reporting numbers daily. That, like everything related to COVID-19, is subject to change should case numbers warrant it. Our many dashboards online at will keep New Mexicans updated. With regards to the state’s reopening status, daily case counts, and test numbers are raw data based on information the state receives today – meaning data that has not yet been scrutinized to identify potential duplicates or late-arriving positives or negatives. By contrast, the Red Yellow Green county-level analysis provides a highly accurate picture for a two-week period of time and the NMDOH uses to determine a county’s status.

New Mexico Department of Health

UPDATED DAILY (KRQE) – The following charts show cases of coronavirus by day for each New Mexico County that has identified an individual infected with COVID-19. The data is provided by the New Mexico Department of Health daily and may be partial or subject to change due to further investigation or technical difficulties. Delayed results will be included in the following days reporting.

A Moving Average Trendline smoothes out fluctuations in data to show a pattern or trend more clearly. A moving average trendline uses a specific number of data points (set by the Period option), averages them, and uses the average value as a point in the trendline.

If Period is set to 2, for example, then the average of the first two data points is used as the first point in the moving average trendline. The average of the second and third data points is used as the second point in the trendline, and so on.

Note: On Monday, August 4, 2020 only partial COVID-19 numbers were released by the New Mexico Department of Health due to technical issues. As of Tuesday, August 5, 2020 it is unclear if the previous day’s totals were added to the current total. KRQE is working to get information and will update accordingly
