BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Bernalillo County is once again looking to help residents who are struggling during the pandemic. The county has $1.4 million to help people with a one-time $500 payment.
The county reports the funding for the COVID Relief Program will be supported by the county general fund. Bernalillo County says it has determined these payments are necessary expenditures due to the public health emergency.
People who are eligible are those who don’t qualify for federal stimulus payments or unemployment benefits. Additionally, you must be a Bernalillo County resident, have experienced hardship as a result of COVID-19, and be a low-income household at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level.
Required documentation is required. The application process opens on 12 p.m. on Monday, February 8 and will close when funds have been given out.
