The Central New Mexico Community College has changed quite a bit in its 52 years of education.  It was established originally as the Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute (TVI). The college has always been committed to preparing a workforce for New Mexico industry.

As industry has changed over the years, so too has CNM’s curriculum. As vocations expand from the workshop to the laptop, the college has added a variety of new classes and learning tracks to meet the needs of a 21st-century business.

The Deep Dive Coding Boot Camp is a 10-week, full-time training on IT and coding, which has helped hundreds of New Mexicans find work in cyber-security, software development and programming.

The FUSE Makerspace is ground zero for prototype manufacturing to small business creation.  A subsidiary of CNM Ingenuity, FUSE cultivates dialog between makers and deal makers to keep the state on the cutting edge of innovation.

CNM’s Film Tech program has been growing steadily for the past 12 years, meeting the needs for professional film crews working within the state. The program has provided vital training to New Mexico filmmakers and taxpayers, reducing their need to leave the state to find work.

As CNM President Dr. Katharine Winograd says, the institution is committed to keeping the cutting edge of technological education, flowing with the ever-changing needs of business.
