Historical documents are great for preserving the details of a people, place or event. But often, they fail to capture the true human experience. Delving into the art of graphic sheet music, The Land That Enchants Me So, now showing at the NM History Museum reveals an intimate portrait of our state between the late 19th through early 20th Century.
Featured in the show is a rare recording of “O, Fair New Mexico,” penned and sung by Elizabeth Garrett, daughter of famed lawman Pat Garrett.
The exhibition runs now through February 2019.
