Patient Cured Of HIV

It appears a second person has been cured of HIV.

In a report published in the online journal “Nature, “scientist say the patient shows no sign of the virus following a stem cell transplant. The unidentified person also has Hodgkin Lymphoma, and receive a stem cell transplant.

The donor has a gene mutation known as CCR5 Delta 32, which helps the body resist the virus. He stopped taking HIV medication in September 2017 and still shows no signs of infection.
