It may be a tale as old as time, but it’s not the one you know from Disney. Elite Dance Theater is bringing the 17th-century story to the stage in an all-new version of “Beauty and the Beast“.
Stars of the show Cara Sowers and Isaac Christie stop by the studio to discuss this original adaptation by longtime Elite scribe, Cheri Goodman. As Sowers says, fans can expect elements from the centuries-old fairy tale, which talks on themes of deception, betrayal, manipulation and sacrifice. Looks can always be deceiving, a fact highlighted by the tale of inner-beauty and love.
Elite’s adaptation bows at the VSA N4th Theater, located on 4th street in Albuquerque. The show runs April 5th through the 13th. The performance is recommended for audiences ages 10 and up.
