ABQ TO DO: From swim lessons to backpacking and wine tasting

Swimming lessons, backpacking, live theater and of course a big wine festival. There is so much going on this weekend.

This Memorial Day Weekend, celebrate the start of summer at the beautiful Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Park where New Mexicoโ€™s top wineries uncork their finest wines for you to taste and take home.

The Albuquerque Wine Festival features a wide selection of red, white and sparkling wines that range from soft and sweet to bold and dry. There will also be exceptional food trucks, talented artisans, and award-winning musicians. Share the experience with friends or grab a date for this annual Memorial Day Weekend tradition.

Your ticket includes a complimentary wine glass, tastes of 100 great wines from 20 great wineries, and most tickets include $5 off any bottle of wine at the festival.

Wines also available for purchase by the glass, bottle, or case.

May 26, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Saturday)
May 27, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Sunday)
May 28, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Monday)

The Albuquerque Little Theater has the performance of “The Full Monty” The play is about six unemployed, miserable steelworkers in Buffalo, New York who have no money or hope for their future. Their wives go crazy over male strippers. The steelworkers later become Chippendale strippers. Their decision strengthened their friendship and self-esteem while overcoming their fears and inner demons.

The show is rated R, but there are tickets available for children.

May 26 at 7:30 p.m. 

May 27 at 2:00 p.m.

In Bernalillo County, May 26 is opening day for the county’s aquatics facilities. Swim begins at noon at the Rio Grande High School pool, Paradise Hills, Los Padillas Aquatic Center, Alameda Spray Park.
