Sensory Station Offers a Place to Relax at the New Mexico State Fair

Living

With all of the excitement of the New Mexico State Fair, organizers realize, it can be overwhelming for some people.

That’s why they have what is called a “Sensory Stations”, which are designed to give families and a place to take a break from the crowds and noise.

The Sensory Station provides a safe space for our special needs Fair guests to de-escalate and provides low-key and helpful sensory input activities. Open daily, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

It is one of the few places on the fairgrounds that is quiet and cool, both of which are things that are very important for de-escalation. Along with the atmosphere, they offer the sensory station guests with a lot of sensory-related stimuli.
