City of Durango is open and is safe for people to visit

The 416 Fire that is 10 miles north of Durango has been destructive in so many ways and it has had a negative effect on summer tourism in Durango.

Tim Walsworth from the Durango Business Improvement District wants everyone to know Durango is open and is safe for people to visit.

“I want to let viewers know that the fire is VERY far from town and everything is open and ready for visitors! The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, Purgatory, Downtown Durango, Animas River Trail, hiking, biking, mountain climbing and more are available. Plus it’s not as crowded as normal, so it’s a great time to visit.”
