'Picturing the Past' Explores Paleo-Art
It's the marriage of art and science millions of years in the making.
Paleo-Art is informed by the fossil record and aims to accurately re-create pre-historic life in paintings, sculpture and another medium.
One of the largest assemblies of this craft is now on display at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and science in Albuquerque. "Picturing the Past" features 85 juried works of art, submitted from hundreds of artists worldwide. From trilobites to sabertooths, the exhibition features a wide variety of tableaus, investigations and interpretations of the ancient world.
The show runs now through January 4th of 2019. For more information, visit NMNaturalHistory.org.
