Every year, each class at Holy Ghost Catholic School picks a community service project to complete during the school year. This year, one second-grade class has chosen to give back to the men and women overseas by putting together Christmas care packages.Second-grade teacher, Katie Widner, joined New Mexico Living to let us know how the community can help.
True to her teaching ways, she explained the importance of giving by quoting the Grinch, “Christmas doesn’t always come from the store, maybe Christmas is a little bit more.” And that is why the men and women overseas have requested hand knit hats and scarves.
Donations will be accepted at Holy Ghost Catholic School until Friday, November 11, 2016.
