Walking N Circles Ranch provides neglected and abandoned horses with a second chance at life. Their staff is driven by the sole purpose of rehabilitation to give these animals an opportunity to thrive as service animals, ranch-hands and friends.
Now, we’re talking about how you can help these abused, abandoned or surrendered horses.
Executive Director Ruth Andrews says there are more horses then there are owners, which can leave some horses starving.
Andrews says the ranch recently received a new horse, Malbec, a 17-year-old athletic sorrel gelding. She says Malbec has just finished the “horse-whispering” process, and is now continuing work with a trainer.
Walking N Circles Ranch hosts volunteer orientations on the last Saturday of every month. Ranch volunteers learn how to muck and how to care for horses, as well as horse whispering.
Andrews says their youngest volunteers are 8-years-old, but they must be accompanied by a parent.
