ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A recent KRQE News 13 investigation highlights the number of cases Albuquerque Police has not been able to forward to prosecution due to a lack of victim cooperation. APD says the problem often leads to suspects going on to commit more crimes, rather than facing the criminal justice system for initial allegations.

KRQE News 13 Investigative Reporter Ann Pierret recently discussed her investigation at length in a “Behind the Story” interview with KRQE Digital Anchor Chris McKee. Watch the video embedded on this page for the full conversation.

Ann and Chris discuss how she started working on the investigation and more on what solutions might emerge in response to issues highlighted in the story.
