SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – At least ten New Mexico hotels are dealing with lawsuits filed by a person who’s never visited their properties. The lawsuits accuse the hotels of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for failing to describe disability accommodations on third-party reservation websites. The lawsuits could ultimately cost the businesses being targeted.

KRQE News 13 Investigative Reporter Gabrielle Burkhart discussed the investigation with Digital Anchor Chris McKee in a recent “Behind the Story” conversation. Watch the video above for the complete discussion.

Among the topics discussed, how Gabby heard about the story, more on her conversation with the attorneys working on the lawsuits, more on the types of hotels being targeted and what she’s heard about the case since her story first aired on April 19.
