Las Cruces fans of New Mexico State University are invited to watch the Aggies take on Auburn University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The free event begins at 11 a.m. and will take place in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The venue seats around 200 and will televise the game on a 95-by-152 inch projection screen, as well as two 90-inch monitors. Food and drinks are not allowed at the event.
The Aggies advanced to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Western Athletic Conference regular-season and postseason tournament titles. They finished with an overall record of 30 and 4 and an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. The Aggies’ 30 victories are the most ever in a season by any NMSU basketball team.
This will be the Aggies’ third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. NMSU has played in the tournament eight of the past 10 years.
The game will be broadcasted on TNT and is set to tip off at 11:30 a.m.
